The Charity

Heart of the Green will use The National Scramble Championship as a vehicle to kick off an ambitious campaign to reduce the amount of deaths from sudden cardiac arrests and heart attacks. An estimated 800,000 people die annually of heart disease, with an estimated 250,000 of those from sudden cardiac arrest and 350,000 from a heart attack. In addition, golf happens to be the deadliest sport/leisure activity based on heart attacks and cardiac arrest alone and we've chosen the golf course to be our launching pad into communities.

Heart of the Green’s mission is to distribute the tools and knowledge to save lives. Heart of the Green will donate automated external defibrillators (AED machines) to golf facilities. Once the golf facility is properly covered with AED machines, we will begin donating AED's out into communities to venues that have a need for one. In addition, Heart of the Green will be promoting the importance of CPR and AED training.

We ask that you take a few minutes to visit www.heartofthegreen.org to see why this campaign has caught the attention of senators, past presidents, PGA TOUR officials, players and members of the medical community.
